I’ve normally got some project or another going on, some of it is to help me (or our customers!) at work, others I do just to see if I can. Ive split them down into the categories below. Have a look see what you think. Constructive suggestions (or criticisms) are always welcome. |

Joomla Content Management System
( 7 items )
I think the Joomla website pretty much sums up what Joomla is about : "Joomla! is one of the most powerful Open Source Content Management Systems on the planet. It is used all over the world for everything from simple websites to complex corporate applications. Joomla! is easy to install, simple to manage, and reliable." www.joomla.org We use Joomla for a number of our company websites (even our intranet). Content Management is about just that : Managing the Content. This moves the focus of the website maintainer to the content (the articles, the banners, links etc...) where it should be, and away from worrying about what html tags are needed to make text look big, or bold, or what menu option is selected. So in essence, Joomla looks after the look and feel of the website, and the interaction between the multitude of extentions and addons, leaving the website maintainer to concentrate purely on the information. Just the way it should be (IMHO) Ive got a couple of projects that involve Joomla in progress. Check this category for what Ive documented so far.

Linux
( 5 items )
I’ve been slowly getting my head into Linux over the past few years. So far Ive only worked with RedHat 9 and then Fedora cores 4,5,6 and 7. Linux wise Im a bit of a noob, but Ive a couple of boxes at work that are working out quite nicely. I’ve tried to split up my linux “projects” below, some of them will get updated (because I’m working on them) others wont be, because they’re basically finished.

Knees
( 1 items )
Not a project as such (although just as mamoth) Ive recently injured my knee while training at Tae Kwon Do. Details are a bit sketchy, but it seems my knee cap was dislocated when I landed on my left leg a bit funny. Anyway, an MRI scan, and several consultations with the knee doc later (www.thekneedoc.co.uk) and it appears (touch wood) that my knee is on the mend! Which is good news because not being able to train has made me a tad cranky.
