Anyone who's setup an online store with Virtuemart will know about the "Ask a question about this product" page being spammed. Opinion is divided between introducing a CAPTCHA system (requires a lot of core hacks) to removing the link all together. This is my solution which is somewhere between the two.

Thanks to everyone who's purchased our Joomla 1.5 EmailAsUsername plugin. We've had a few people with Google related email addresses (gmail.com / googlemail.com) experience problems in receiving the plugin. After some adjustments to lunarhotel.co.uk's delivery code, we've got it beaten!

This revolutionary plugin removes the need for your visitor to enter a username and email when registering through the Joomla, Virtuemart, and JomSocial registration page.... and whats more, it does so without any core hacks.
Users can then sign in using just thier email address.
