Problem: When you click on "Create an account" in the Joomla login module the following error is displayed:
Call to a member function def() on a non-object in <path to your joomla>/templates/template_name/html/com_user/register/default.php on line 19
Solution: You are using a version of Joomla prior to 1.5.14. Delete /templates/template_name/html/com_user/register/default.php and rename default.php.pre_j1.5.14 to default.php... or upgrade to Joomla 1.5.14!
Problem: Virtuemart registration does not work, the user registers, but no user is created in the Virtuemart or Joomla backend.
Solution: Optional user registration is selected in Virtuemart. You'll need to switch this to standard. Check user registration settings in the configuration section. Update: There is a work around however! It does involve a core hack on Virtuemart, but if you really want to the use the plugin with optional registration, then read this article on how to do it.
